Debra Reisenthel President and Chief Executive Officer Debra has more than 20 years of experience in the healthcare industry, primarily focusing on women and children’s health. Before joining Novasys Medical, Inc. in February 2001 as President and CEO, Debra worked for Nellcor (now a division of Tyco Healthcare) for more than 10 years heading the entrepreneurial Perinatal Division. As Vice President and General Manager, Debra provided leadership and vision for the development and commercialization of the division’s key product, a breakthrough technology for non-invasive oxygen monitoring of the fetus during labor and delivery. At Novasys Medical, Inc., a venture-backed start-up focusing on developing an innovative non-surgical approach for the treatment of female stress urinary incontinence, Debra raised $13M in August 2001 and led the company through animal studies, human clinical trials (including a large randomized clinical trial), and market development activities, and is now preparing for product launch. In April 2004, Debra closed on $25 million in Series C financing (an additional $2M was invested by Ascension Health Ventures in July 2004) which will serve to move the company towards commercialization. Debra has a strong clinical background and holds an AS in Respiratory Care (CRTT, RRT), a BA and an MBA. Debra is on the Board of Directors of Adiana and serves on the Advisory Board of Professional Women's Healthcare Alliance. |

Charles Carignan, M.D. Chief Medical Officer and Vice President, Business Development, Clinical & Regulatory Affairs Charles brings extensive experience in clinical, regulatory and medical affairs with more than 14 years dedicated to medicine and the health care industry. As Chief Medical Officer, Endosurgery and Minimally Invasive Therapies at Boston Scientific, Charles led all aspects of medical and clinical affairs for the Endosurgery group, including women's health, urology, gastroenterology, pulmonology, and oncology. His team supported sales, reimbursement and regulatory strategies with well-designed clinical trials, peer-reviewed journal publications and physician support to increase the speed of new product development. As a strategic executive, Charles evaluated new technologies and companies for potential alliances, partnerships and acquisitions to expand the breadth of Boston Scientific's offerings. At Conceptus, Inc., he was Vice President, Clinical Research and Medical Affairs, responsible for large multicenter clinical trials, leading to expedited review and PMA approval by the FDA of a new female contraceptive device. Charles has conducted physician training in more than 50 countries and participated on various committees of the World Health Organization, the Population Council, the United Nations and the U.S. Agency for International Development. He is credited with numerous peer-reviewed publications focused on women's health. Charles earned his undergraduate degree from Yale University, received his M.D. degree from the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Columbia University and trained in general surgery at Columbia-Presbyterian Medical Center. |

Nancy Westcott Chief Financial Officer Nancy joined Novasys Medical, Inc. with more than 24 years experience in large and small, public and private health care companies. Most recently, she held the position of Chief Financial Officer and Vice President Finance & Administration at Arcturus Bioscience where she was instrumental in raising $23 million in private equity and debt financing. At ORATEC Interventions, Nancy co-led the company’s IPO and the successful sale of the company to Smith & Nephew as Chief Financial Officer and Vice President Administration. She supported ORATEC’s growth to $50 million in sales and profitability with sound management guidance and an in-depth understanding of the business. Previously, Nancy contributed to Baxter International and Caremark International’s success through a series of leadership positions in corporate finance, treasury, investor relations and corporate communications. She holds an MBA from the American Graduate School of International Management (Thunderbird) and a Professional Accounting Certificate from J.L. Kellogg Graduate School of Management, Northwestern University. |

Karl Florence Vice President of Reimbursement Karl Florence has more than twenty years of experience in the medical device industry. Karl has held various positions in sales, sales management, managed care, managed care contracting (on a national level), and reimbursement. His experience also includes new technology recognition and payment for both large corporations and start-up medical device companies. Karl began his career in medical device sales with Cutter Medical, where he served in various sales and sales training positions. Following that, he joined AVI, a start-up infusion pump company that was subsequently acquired by 3M Corporation. He began his managed care/payer responsibilities at MiniMed, establishing coverage for insulin pump therapy with regional and national payers. He then transitioned to reimbursement for the continuous glucose monitoring system with Medtronic after their acquisition of MiniMed. Most recently he was Director of Strategic Reimbursement for Conceptus. In that position, Karl was responsible for the company’s interactions with payers, developed reimbursement education for the sales force, and handled coding initiatives. Karl has a Bachelor of Science in Biology from California State University San Jose. |

Simon Thomas Vice President of R&D and Operations Simon has over 20 years broad-based experience in biomedical product development and manufacturing (both single-use probes/sensors/catheters and capital equipment) with Tyco Healthcare (Nellcor), GE/Marquette (Corometrics), Novametrix Medical Systems and Physiological Instrumentation (a UK-based startup). In addition to product development, Simon has extensive experience including clinical studies/biostatistics, regulatory strategy/submissions, IP and manufacturing engineering. Prior to joining Novasys Medical, Inc. in 2001, he led Nellcor's technical, clinical and regulatory functions in obtaining PMA approval of a breakthrough OB/GYN product. Simon's experience ranges from being the first R&D employee at a start-up to holding the position of Vice President of Engineering at Corometrics, leading a department of 55. Simon obtained his Bachelor of Science with Honors in Physics from Imperial College of Science and Technology in London. |

Lauri Campbell Director of Marketing Lauri joined Novasys Medical with 17 years experience in medical device marketing and sales management in both Fortune 100 and small venture-backed start up companies. Most recently, she was an independent marketing consultant assisting small companies in launching new products in the sleep disorders, gastroenterology and cardiology markets. Prior to that, Lauri held marketing management positions at Neoforma, a publicly held Internet start-up serving the health care market. Lauri spent three years with Johnson & Johnson’s orthopaedics business unit, serving as Area Manager and Territory General Manager and successfully integrating the J&J and DePuy sales organizations in Northern California after J&J’s acquisition of DePuy. During her tenure, J&J’s market share in Northern California grew by more than 80%. Previously, Lauri held a variety of marketing and product management positions at Abbott Laboratories and Nellcor, where she led the worldwide marketing activities for an $80 million disposable and reusable sensor product line. Lauri holds a B.A. from the University of California at Los Angeles, and an MBA from the Stanford Graduate School of Business. |
